Kessler Street GarageCleveland, Tenn. (423) 555-0172

Independent repair shop. Since 2009.

Prices on the board.
Photos before parts.

We are a two-person shop on Kessler Street, a mother and her son, and we have run it the same way since the day we opened: you see the price before we start, and you see the worn part before we replace it. No surprises on the ticket.

House rule no. 1

The photo rule

  1. 1
We look. Your car goes on the lift and we find the actual problem, not the one the internet guessed.
  2. 2
We text you a photo. The worn pad, the cracked belt, the leaking hose. With a price next to it.
  3. 3
You say yes or no. Nothing comes off the car until you do. If you say no, you pay for the look and nothing else.

Here is how it works. When we find something that needs replacing, we take a picture of it, right there on the lift, and we text it to you with the price before we touch a wrench. That is not a courtesy. It is the rule, and Wes knows I will hear about it if he skips it.

We started doing this because people were coming in from other shops with a bill for a part they never saw and a story they did not believe. We figured if the part is really worn, the picture should speak for itself. It usually does. If it does not, we probably should not be replacing it.

Some days this costs us a job. That is fine. We would rather you come back in six months for the thing that actually broke.

Donna Kessler, owner, and Wes Kessler, the one under the car.

These are the flat rates for the jobs we do most. If your car is unusual, European, or has a part that costs what it costs, we will tell you before we start. Nobody gets quoted after the fact.

Flat rates. Most cars. We quote before starting. Parts and tax included where noted.

Bay board

Four bays, one board. This is the same one Donna updates with a dry-erase marker all day. We put it on the site so you can check on your car without calling, though you are welcome to call.

Which light
is on?

Pick the one on your dash. We will tell you what it usually means and whether you should keep driving. When in doubt, pull over and call us. We will never be annoyed by that call.

Pick a light from the list. This is general guidance from a shop, not a substitute for your owner's manual, and if anything feels wrong with the car, stop.

What we do

Services

Cars, light trucks, and the occasional minivan with a mystery smell. We do not do body work, glass, or transmissions rebuilds, and we will happily point you to someone who does.

  • 01

    Oil changes

Full synthetic or conventional, your call. We check the other fluids and the tires while it drains.

  • 02

    Brakes

Pads, rotors, calipers, lines, fluid. You get a photo of the old pad next to a new one so you can see the difference.

  • 03

    Tires and alignment

Mounting, balancing, rotation, patching, and a four-wheel alignment with a printed sheet.

  • 04

    Diagnostics

Check engine, ABS, airbag, and electrical gremlins. Scan fee gets credited if we do the repair.

  • 05

    AC service

Leak test first, then recharge. We will not keep filling a system that is leaking out the bottom.

  • 06

    Batteries and charging

Load test, battery install, alternators and starters. Free battery test if you are already here.

  • 07

    Timing belts

Belt, tensioner, idlers, and the water pump while we are in there. Quoted per engine.

  • 08

    Pre-purchase inspections

Buying used from anywhere? Bring it by. Written report, photos, and a straight answer on whether to walk away.
